Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today changes in the government and the creation of the new ministry of “economy, culture and innovation.”
Blendi Gonxhe is the minister of the new institution, while former minister Elva Margariti has been dismissed from the post of the Ministry of Culture.
PM Rama argued on the new institution: “Today, we need to move to an integrated governmental approach in relation to the sectors of Economy, Culture and Innovation, which for the new phase of development we have entered, must leave the narrow traditional boundaries and interact closely with each other. This is done especially in the conditions when digital technology has entered as a new power in all areas of life”.
Rama added that “culture can no longer remain a small island, separated from the new economic and social dynamics of the country”, as according to him it has a great influencing potential, and can benefit more.
“For this strategic need of this new phase of development, I have decided to change the structure of the government and create a new Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, which will unite into one the parts that currently function separately in the ministries of Finance and Economy and Culture”, said Rama.
