The Minister of Education and Sports, Lindita Nikolla, welcomed the European Champion for long jump, Izmir Smajlaj.
Minister Nikolla praised the 23-year-old for his work and guaranteed further support from the government, so that he can train more and aim for higher objectives.
Smajlaj will receive 4 million ALL as reward after the doping tests. The Champion of Europe also met with the National Olympic Committee.
The Albanian Athletic Federation received a congratulatory message from the nine-times world champion, Carl Lewis.
