The Albanian Parliament discussed today the CEZ affair, with the opposition reiterating the accusations against the government.

The Democratic Party accused the majority of not allowing the voting of the draft-law that allows international investigation.

Democratic Party MP, Jozefina Topalli, asked Prime Minister Rama to answer in Parliament. She said that the agreement with CEZ was voted secretly.

The Socialist Party Parliamentary Group leader, Gramoz Ruci, reiterated the majority’s stance regarding the issue and mentioned the criminal report made by the Audit against Minister Gjiknuri.

“The SSA reported the Rama government, and the Prosecution must start the case, even with US or EU expertise if they want, since they are independent. As for the Prime Minister, he has clearly stated that the government is ready for foreign expertise”, Ruci declared.

The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group leader, Edi Paloka, said that Rama has called the judiciary system a degenerated one until yesterday, and now he is saying that he trusts the judiciary on this case. Paloka added that this case is too big to be closed quickly. He said they are ready to start investigating the case from the time when Berisha was in power.

Vice Parliament Speaker, Valentina Leskaj, explained that the program has not been approved at the Conference of Chairmen, and that it will be approved the moment it will be included in the agenda.

The Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, said that the SSA report is just a political slander against the government.
