The son of former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, appeared again at the
Parliamentary Commission which is established to investigate the
privatization of the electricity distribution company to the Czech “CEZ”
company.

Even this time, Shkelzen Berisha refused to take his oath in front of Taulant Balla, the chairman of the commission.

Berisha said that since Balla was found guilty by a court for slander against Shkelzen Berisha, this makes him automatically unfit to lead the Commission.

Balla underlined that the purpose of this commission is to administer evidence which will be sent to the Prosecution.

The name of the former Prime Minister’s son, according to Balla, appeared during the investigations on the e-mails between a person who has served as mediator between the CEZ company and the Berisha government, and who has withdrawn 7 million EUR in cash, paid by CEZ.

The electricity disitribution concession ended very badly, causing Albania a huge financial loss of hundreds of millions of Euros, forcing the Rama government to take CEZ under state ownership again.
