The CEZ Distribution employees from all Albanian cities gathered today
in Tirana to protest against the arrests of their colleagues by the
police.
The protesters, who had preannounced this meeting, requested the police to free the two employees who are still under their custody.
The Union leaders asked the Interior Minister to not use the employees politically, because the problem exists only between the government and the CEZ leaders. The protesters moved in front of the EU Office in Tirana, where they asked the intervention of the EU Ambassador, Ettore Sequi.
Korce CEZ employees to be prosecuted
The Korce Police Department declared that they are prosecuting 11 CEZ employees for interrupting the power of aqueducts in Korce and Devoll.
The same measures were taken in other cities too, such as Vlore and Durres.
The CEZ employees were arrested and now are undergoing the trial.
