Top Channel has learned from confidential sources at the Energy
Community in Vienna, as mediators of this process, that the negotiations
between the government and the Czech company are still undergoing, and
the Albanian party has refused the request of the Czech republic for
more than 200 million EUR of compensation, considering the negotiations
as a process that should have nothing to do with the status.
The Albanian delegation, made of several ministers, declared that using status as blackmail for profiting this enormous amount of money is considered unacceptable. A few weeks earlier, the Albanian government declared that they are working for a mutual solution of the conflict with easy financial conditions, obliged only by the fact that the energy sector is in crisis and needs investments.
The government has negotiated with the World Bank and has prepared a package of investments, but this becomes impossible with the unclear status fo the distribution company. However, it can never be about 200 million EUR.
