CEZ, Berisha: “Czech veto, a farce. Rama must admit foreign investigation”

The former Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, refuted the voices
that the Czech Republic had conditioned the agreement with the Albanian
government with a veto on the candidate status.

Berisha commented about the declarations of one day ago of the Energy Secretariat, Janez Kopac.

“The Czech Republic had never warned of any political action against any commercial issue.  The fact the Kopac says that the Czech Republic removed the veto two hours later, shows that this was a dirty multi-million EUR job of Edi Rama, a cost that is being paid by the Albanian citizens”, Berisha declared.

He said that when in power, his government had received a “no” as response by the Czech company when asked to resolve the issue.

“Because they wanted us to give 85 million EUR. They promised that the DIA would be undertaken by the Czech and that it had nothing to do with Albania. It was a company contracted by CEZ and sent by my government for prosecution”, Berisha declared.

According to him, everything was made according to the pockets of Edi Rama and his alliance.

“I appeal Edi Rama to accept the international investigation for this affair, from the first day when CEZ arrived in Albania and until the day when that ugly agreement was signed”, Berisha added, valuing the request of Ilir Meta for an international investigation.
