Six months after the Court of First Degree found guilty the nine
defendants of the Cerrik massacre, the Court of Appeals changed this
verdict by founding three of them innocent and only one with life to
prison.
As result, the Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes has ordered the immediate liberation of Met ozi, who was sentenced with life to prison by the First Degree Court; Llazara Bicja, sentenced with to 25 years in prison; and Skender Cani, sentenced by the First Degree Court with to 21 years in prison, decisions that for these candidates are considered repelled.
The Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes explained the verdict with the lack of evidence argument, leaving Roland Xhepexhiu with life to prison, and eight years to prison for the collaborator of justice, Bujar Buzani, who earned 15 years off prison.
Tge defendants are charged of killing the national guard soldiers on 22 and 23 May 1997, and for wounding 16 others.
