On the world day of refugees, the Albanian authorities and
representatives of the diplomatic sees in the country have participated
in a ceremony at the Center of Assylum Seekers in Babrru, where a number
of Mujahedeens have been sheltered.
Albania has 78 refugees and 66 assylum seekers from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, China, Tunisia, Nepal, India, Jordan, Turkey, Algeria, Nigeria, Congo and Syria.
Most of the refugees are the Iranians that came from Iraq. The Interior Ministry declared that offering shelter to the residents of the Ashraf Camp, outside Iraq, was a stable solution that helps the peace consolidation in the region.
The Interior Ministry declaration says that all other countries should follow the humanist example of Albania to offer shelter and international protection to the people in need.
