The Albanian flag was symbolically raised together with the Serbian one in the Municipality of Presheva.
Albanians prtested for November 28th, and asked for more rights in Serbia. After interrupting the dialogue with the Serbian government, the Albanian people of Presheva asked the Albanian and Kosovo governments to help them through international pressure.
“We want the two Albanian governments of Kosovo and Albania to pressure Belgrade so that they can bring the real economic and political hand for the Presheva citizens”, declared Remzie Rexhepi, from Presheva’s Municipality.
Citizens say that there will be protests each year in Presheva, because nothing really changes for them.
“We want to use the Albanian flag wherever the Albanian people lives. Serbs in Mitrovica are using their flag and no one is bothering them. We want our rights as a people”, another Presheva Albanian said.
The Albanians in southern Presheva are not allowed to use their flag.
