The Central Election Commission decided to remove the mandates of
Parliament Members Shkelqim Selami and Dashamir Tahiri, and also that of
the Mayor of Kavaja, Elvis Rroshi.

The Chairman of the CEC, Denar Biba, said that the Prosecution has sent them the necessary documents, but Tahiri’s lawyer, Fatmir Braka, opposed it by saying that the Prosecution has sent the same material as before.

“The material is not new. Few things have changed, and those are the things we asked for. The CEC was in dilemma if we would be in the position of a notary, or that of a court. We wanted a regular process”, said the CEC Chairman, Denar Biba.

“The Prosecutor has sent the same material, which is wrong, again. He has confused the date. My client is sentenced in 2009 in Ravena, but this is about a court verdict which the Prosecution does not have. The information was taken in a narrative way from Europol, not from the justice. The information is wrong”, Braka said.
