The Socialist Party made a request at the Central Election Commission
for suspending a request of some communes for Referendum, until the
Constitutional Court gives an answer for the request of the Democratic
Party, which wants to repeal the law for the new territorial division.
Genc Gjoncaj, legal representative of the Socialist Party at the Central Election Commission, requested the presence of the groups who initiated the referendum at the meeting.
Njazi Kosovrasti, representative of the Democratic Party, opposed the propositions of Gjoncaj and said that there is no legal obligation for having those initiators present in the meeting.
As for the Constitutional issue, Kosovrasti declared that the Democratic Party requested a repeal of this law since it is anti-constitutional.
After hearing both parties, the Central Election Commission rejected the request of the Socialist Party.
