The Central Election Commission approved this Wednesday the final
results of the June 25th elections, but the opposition contested it,
saying that the process was bought.
“The elections of June 25th were a victory of illegality and drug money, fruit of pressure from the entire state machinery in cooperation with gangs. The testimonies for this are shocking, in villages and cities. The votes were massively bought by the parties in power”, declared the DP representative, Ivi Kaso.
The representative of the Socialist Party, Eridian Salianji, said that the Democratic Party had the entire process under control.
“The Albanian government didn’t use any asset during the electoral campaign. The legitimate Prime Minister, elected by vote, gave away almost half of the government, the most important posts to the opposition, together with the most important Ministries, such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finances, and several agencies related to jobs. It was the opposition who led the elections in Albania, not the government”.
