The Central Election Commission announced the final result of the June
23rd elections, a decision that comes 44 days after the electoral
process.
The Alliance for European Albania, led by the Socialist Party, has won 83 Parliamentary seats out of 140, while the Alliance for Employment, Welfare and Integration, led by the Democratic Party, has won 57.
The results were read by the Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, Lefteri Lleshi, declaring this way the electoral process officially closed.
Legal representatives of the Socialist Party accused the Central Election Commission of delaying the process and for not respecting the standards.
“It’s August 6th and we are declaring the results of the June 23rd elections. The Parliament’s stance obliged the Central Election Commission to decide with only four membrs. The distribution of the mandates ended the efforts to postpone the meeting of the new Parliament”, Gjoncaj declared.
The Democratic Party representative, Ivi Kaso, declared that the Central Election Commission made everything possible to have elections according to standards.
