Casinos will be placed at tourist areas only and will not be allowed
anymore in residential areas. Sportive bet rooms will be fewer in
number.

The government has approved a new draft law for the betting games, which will change the industry entirely.

The draft was sent for discussion in Parliament. It tightens the licensing criteria and increases taxes for all betting activities.

The total number of betting rooms will be reduced at 500, and not closer than 200 meters from each other.

The companies that operate this activity, will not have a license with an unlimited deadline, but they will have a 10 year term, and will have to pay 20 million ALL.

The licensing term for the National Bingo will also be 10 years, and the license fee is 4 million ALL. For casinos and national lotteries, the licensing fee varies from 4 million to 1 billion ALL.

However, the strongest change of this law is that of the taxing scheme. The taxes on gambling are currently fixed on the number of rooms or machines. The new law will focus on their turnover. Businesses will pay 25% of their revenues.

In parallel with this tax, the gambling organizers will pay a 3% fee for the Authority of Gambling Supervision at the Ministry of Finances and 0.2% for the Ministry of Sports.

The government says that the new law will bring discipline to the gambling industry, will reduce the spreading of this phenomenon and will defend more citizens.
