The high level of informality, fiscal evasion and the negative social
consequences for the citizens, according to the government, make it
necessary to reform the legal structure of gambling games, in order to
regulate the sector.
An important point of the draft-law introduced to the Parliament Members is the limitation of the casinos only in tourist areas, except for five star hotels.
To limit the number of betting shops, the law will allow 200 meters of distance between betting shops, rather than the current 20.
“This distance will be far from schools and cult objects”, explained the Minister of Finances.
But some Parliament Members demanded to have a much bigger distance, in order to reduce their number even more.
“The draft law defines a licensing deadline up to 10 years for sport bets, while the fee is ten times bigger, at 200 million ALL. As for the casinos, the licensing fee starts from 1 billion ALL. The tax obligation is 25% of the reevnues, not less than 40.000 ALL for sport betting rooms.
From March 31st 2016, 0.3% of the annual turnover will be used for sport, tourism and culture.
