The vehicle used for the murder of Oliver Ivanovic had been bought in 2017, and since 2009 it had been in Serbia. These are the most recent information regarding the investigation of the burned vehicle that was found in northern Kosovo, used by the persons who executed the Serbian politician.
The Kosovo Minister of Interior, Flamur Sefaj, said that the police has identified the registration number of the vehicle, which had entered Serbia from an EU country and had been used within Serbia since 2009. Sefaj said they have also found who had bought the car last year in Serbia.
The leader of the Serbian political party in Kosovo was executed with six bullets. His death did not cause the turmoil feared by the international community, but there were strong political consequences.
The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should have started that Tuesday when Ivanovic was killed, but they were interrupted until further notice.
The Observer had an article in which an American security expert, John Shindler, declared that the killers may never be discovered, and that the murder was similar to a classic model that is being used in Europe, dimming the future of Kosovo’s matters.
