Eduart Jasimi, a car dealer, had been importing vehicles from the EU for years. He says that allowing Euro 4 vehicles, regardless of their production year, is a more normal decision.
“I’m not in favor of cars before 2000. Euro 4 is normal. Everyone wants to buy a newer car but that’s what people can afford here, from 3000 to 5000 Euros”, he said.
The ban that was allowed for just a few months reduced the Customs revenues significantly and was affecting many other sectors, from dealers to car services, forcing the government to repeal it.
