The cultivation of cannabis this year was organized well. Top Channel
followed the Special Police in a deep area of the Vjosa River, where
police eliminated a record-breaking quantity of 40.000 plants.
An entire valley, filled with 10 cannabis parcels, with a camping where workers would stay for several months. An investment that went beyond 200.000 EUR.
“We have known for some time now that there was cultivation in this area. We secured the area first, because our agents could be at risk”, says the Chief of State Police, Altin Qato.
Minister Tahiri and Chief of Police Cako were on terrain, while RENEA snipers were observing the situation. The four young men arrested close to the parcels deny having any relation to the illegal activity.
The parcels had an irrigation system that used water from the river. Plants had reached 3 meters and it would have not discovered if traffickers were not about to harvest.
