Cani: “Failied revenues, consequence of internal development”

08/09/2015 13:45

The Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani, told Parliament Members at the
Commission of Economy that the government did not collect the expected
revenues not because of tax evasion, but due to positive developments in
the domestic economy.

According to him, the revenues were smaller due to the internal growth of the agricultural and energy sectors and due to the dropped interest rates in the banking system.

Ridvan Bode, the former Minister of Finances, said that this argument is ridiculous and non serious. He said that the budget cuts are only due to the government’s failed policies.

This declaration caused debates, and the Socialists reminded the former Minister that during his term he had cut the plan of revenues with 1.5 billion USD.

The budget’s normative act that cuts the plan of revenues with 22.4 billion ALL, passed only with the votes of the majority.
