The Albanian Acting Foreign Minister, Gent Cakaj, after removing diplomatic plates from consuls of honors, launched a new reform for diplomatic passport holders.
Cakaj said that there are 350 persons who have diplomatic passports illegally. “Unfortunately, we have inherited an abnormal system of issuing diplomatic passports. Albania has twice the number of diplomatic passports than developed countries, starting with Constitutional Court Judges who haven’t gone through the vetting process, and to persons who attend important personalities in Albania”, Cakaj said.
The Minister added that Albania’s passport must get stronger by lifting visa regimes with more countries.
