A businessman of construction materials was killed on Friday morning in an organized assassination ambush a few meters away from his apartment in Kurbin, in northeastern Albania.
The victim is 55 years old Rakip Rroli, from Kurbin and according to preliminary sources, he was shot several times with a firearm.
The victim was traveling in his “Audi” SUV type vehicle as two people stopped his way and shot him, pushing the car to deviate to the drainage channel on the side of the road.
Businessman Rroli was convicted several years ago for GBH, and served his sentence in Shënkolli prison in Lezha. After his release he engaged in business.
His two sons, Emiliano and Sokol Rroli, are also well-known characters in the criminal world, being convicted of drug trafficking in 2017.
Rakip Rroli and his family have several businesses, including heavy transport vehicles, as well as a building materials store.
