Businesses owe government 1 bln in taxes, 35% from oil and gambling companies

The debt that businesses owe to the tax office mounts up to 1 billion USd.
The figure was made public by the tax administration itself, which specifies that part of these obligations cannot be considered final, since they are under trials.
The tax budget peaked last year at 1.4 billion USD, but the government pardoned 500 million USD through a special law.
195,000 businesses benefited from the pardoning law, and many debts will be possible to get paid by instalments.
Last year’s report says that 35% of the entire debt is owed by a small group of companies, mainly from the oil production and gambling sector.
