Personal data abuse remains a problem in Albania. During this year, the
commissioner for personal data protection has fined more 40 out of 90
public and private institutions that were found with violations.
The fines vary from 20.000 to 2 million ALL in different areas.
The Minister of Innovation, Milena Harito asked for more attention from public institutions after the digitalization of services.
For the first time in Albania was held the 27th work meeting of special cases, with the participation of more than 25 counterpart authorities of personal data protection, members of the European Conference. The meeting will treat for the next two days the best privacy and personal data protection.
