The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, expressed surprise to the declaration of the Albanian President, Ilir Meta, about the agreement with Greece.
According to Bushati, Meta has changed his mind:
“I am certainly surprised that the president has changed his mind. But I cannot judge the head of state. I am just a Minister”, Bushati said, adding that however, there can be no wedding without the marrying couple, meaning that the negotiations are still undergoing.
“The President has authorized me, as the Constitution provides, and I have issued the plenipotentiary team, based on the authorization of the president. The negotiations are not over yet. When they are over, we can consider ourselves part of a team, including the President, who is bound by Constitution, same as the Minister, to be part of the team. When the technical work will be over when the team of experts makes the final assessments, the case will be sent to the President”, Bushati said.
