Bushati: Priorities of diplomacy

The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, announced during an
interview for VOA the priorities of the Albanian diplomacy, among which
stood out that of the European integration.
“Our concrete objective is to start the dialogue for membership. We will work to approach this date and start serious conversations with the European Union”, Bushati declared.
As for the diplomatic view, the Foreign Minister underlined the improvement of the relations with our neighbors and the reinforcing of the strategic partnership.
“The Albanian government wants to open a new communication channel with Greece. The issues with Greece that need to be developed. We are obliged to have good relations with our neighbors”, Bushati declared, adding that they will pay attention to the relations with Turkey.
“Turkey, our strategic partner, will serve as a connection bridge with the Mediterranean and Balkan”, Bushati declared, reiterating that the new motto of the government is “Zero problems with neighbors”.
He added that the constant assistance from the United States will help for a solid strategic stance and for the implementation of new public diplomacy techniques, by structuring the foreign relations in service to the European Union membership.
