“An agreement of mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia would normalize the relations between both countries and would bring stability in the region”, said the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, in a meeting with the Presheva Valley representatives.

Bushati shared the stance of Albania, underlining the importance of dialogue, a clear orientation as regards the implementation of the agreements, and progress with Kosovo’s integration processes.

“The dialogue process should be concluded with an agreement for mutual recognition between both countries. This would not only bring a full normalization, but would also guarantee democratic stability in the region”, he said.

The meeting also focused on the concerns brought by Presheva’s political representatives regarding education, culture and social-economic issues, and for the absence of basic services and standards that are making young people lose their perspective and leave the Valley.

Minister Bushati emphasized the support of the Albanian government on a series of matters, and guaranteed the representatives that Albania will keep asking Serbia to give Presheva Albanians more respect and involvement in the country’s integration processes.
