The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, attended the Warsaw Security Forum.
The purpose of this forum, established in 2014, is to bring together lawmakers, industry leaders, military and civilian experts from around the world, to discuss the current events, opportunities and challenges that the Transatlantic Community is facing.
Minister Bushati held a speech at the “Catching Wind in Rough Waters – EU and Western Balkan Forum”, focusing on the expectancies and future of the Berlin Process, within the frameworks of the Poland Summit.
Minister Bushati underlined the importance of the European integration process for Western Balkans through the consolidation of reforms, especially in the rule of law. “In Balkan, we are experiencing the enlargement process through the reforming of the rule of law as a real priority. The rule of law is a precondition for our economic development and for building a stable society. Albania’s judiciary reform is a unique case, not only for the EU integration path but also for the modernization of our society”, Bushati noted.
In this forum, Minister Bushati held a meeting with the Polish Foreign Minister, Jacek Czaputowicz. Both Ministers praised the excellent institutional and political relations between both countries and expressed their mutual interest to intensify the political dialogue.
Bushati said that Poland’s engagement to organize the next Berlin Process Summit shows their commitment with the EU enlargement.
The Albanian Foreign Minister reiterated Albania’s firm commitment to deliver on the recommendations for its European agenda, which is not only part of the integration process, but also part of the government’s willpower to improve the country’s future.
Bushati and Czaputowicz agreed to deepen their cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as infrastructure and tourism.
