The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, received the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatovic.
This is Mijatovic’s first visit in Albania, after taking her duty in April 2018.
This visit will be focused on the rights of children, people with disabilities and on easier access to the judiciary system.
Minister Bushati congratulated Mijatovic for being appointd Commissioner on Human Rights and underlined Albania’s commitment in this area.
Mijatovic greeted Albania’s efforts for protecting the human rights of women, children and other people in need, encouraging the cooperation between the government and members of these categories.
“This is an important dimension of the European Council activity, on which shall be focused the work of the Commissioner for Human Rights Protection”, said Mijatovic. “I believe in a continuous and fruitful cooperation with Albania”.
