The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, opened his tour of
meeting in Montenegro. The focus of this visit with the Montenegrin
counterpart, was opening a border checkpoint in Zogaj and increasing the
cooperation with the Albanian population of the area.
“I can gladly say that we are on the same opinion as regards the Adriatic-Ionian corridotr development. We discussed about other infrastructure projects that will connect our countries even further. I am encouraged by the confirmation that I received from the Montenegrin Foreign Minister, Lukshic, for the good will of the Montenegrin government in cooperating with the Albanian factor and find a solution for the principles of the European Union”, Bushati declared.
To Top channel’s question about the request of the Tuz Albanians, for receiving the commune status, the Foreign Montenegrin Minister declared that the solution will be fast and consensual.
The Head of the Albanian Diplomacy attended a meeting with the Montenegrin President, Filip Vujanovic, and Parliament Speaker Ranko Krigokapic, in which Albania, as member of NATO, guaranteed the neighbor for the integrating process in this structure.
The Foreign Minister concluded his visit in Montenegro with the leaders of the Albanian political parties who keep suffering a deep division, by creating several fractions and weakening the strength of the Albanian factor in Montenegro.
“We are the motherland and we will have fraternal relations, but it is up to the Albanians in Montenegro to decide how they will follow their rights and their political representation in the Montenegrin institutions. As regards Albania, we encourage political dialogue, and we encourage the Albanian factor to be more cohesive. We encourage a consensual solution with the Montenegrin authorities”, Bushati declared.
