The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, will meet today with his
Italian and Serbian counterparts, Paulo Gentiloni and Ivica Dacic.
The Serbian Foreign Minister has disclosed the topics that will be discussed, by valuing the huge role of the Italian government in improving the relations between Serbia and Albania. However, Dacic says that the main topic will be the stability in the region.
“This is about the desire of Italy to help with the relations between Serbia and Albania. Italy has good relations with both countries”, Dacic said, adding that some other topics to be discussed might be the unpleasant ones, such as the case when the mentioning of Independent Kosovo by the Albanian Prime Minister, caused an irritated response from Serbia.
“Certainly, we will discuss about unpleasant topics. This is part of the Foregin Policy. We will look for topics where we can find a solution, because we already now what we cannot agree about”, Dacic declared.
The invitation for this meeting was announced by the former Foreign Minister of Italy, Federica Mogherini, during her tour in Balkan.
In July she spoke about a dialogue between the Italian, Albanian and Serbian Ministers, while Italy will be leading the EU Presidency.
This project was supported by the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Gentilioni, who invited to Rome the Albanian Minister, Ditmir Bushati, and the Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic.
