Bushati cancels press conference

Ama’s Spokesperson declared this Friday that Mrs.Bushati would release a press conference today, but apparently she changed her mind and didn’t give a chance to the media to make her other questions.

“While AMA has invited Top Channel to participate in the Beauty Contest, the news report broadcasted yesterday by this media outlet is a mere pressure towards an independent institution to block it from doing its job” declared Fatbardh Zenelaj, Director of the Public Relations.

Top Channel wants to make clear to Mr.Bushati and the public opinion that we only stoo to the mission for informing the public, a law that comes from AMA led by Mrs.Bushati.

Not only Top Channel but every other media has the duty to pose questions to the leaders of these institutions about several problems. Top Channel has reported the illegal process with only three members that AMA is continuing, while the licensing of networks needs a quorum of at least five memebrs.

Top Channel asked Mrs.Bushati to publish the regulation document with the signatures of the five members. As for Mrs.Bushati’s concern, Top Channel has only read the law that Mrs.Bushati claims to be implementing.

And it results that the Head of the AMA is violating it. Hence, we think it is hasty to appear in press conference each time that TCH treats problems of the electronic media in TV reports.

But it seems that the only thing left for Mrs.Bushati after violating the law, is attacking the biggest media in the country.

We asked Mrs.Bushati why AMA did not realize the digitalization strategy as required by law 8410, but she followed the instructions of the ministry of Genc Pollo instead? It was Mrs.Bushati during a Parliamentary session on Februaru 13, 2012, who expressed her opinion against the digital broadcast strategy.

“Unfortunately, our remark as not been taken in consideration. The strategy for passing from analogue to digital broadcast is undergoing the approval process. This draft law will remain unimplementable in practice, although some of the members have tried to predict some of the alternatives, and it could bring consequences that could hardly be fixable with the different amends that could come up after the strategy is approved. Therefore, our main remark and our main proposition is that the draft law should not be approved in the way that it is, but it should be coordinated with the approval of the strategy for digital broadcast”, Bushati declared back then.

Why is it that during these three years no frequency plan has been created, although it is a basic document for licensing the digital networks? We also asked her why she is hasting this process, when they do not have the necessary quorum? We also asked her to give us the decision of the regulation of this important process, and we have received no answer. In this announcement of the Head of AMA it was said that Mrs.Bushati would come in a press conference, but apparently she changed her mind and by not allowing the media to interview her.
