Busek: Visa-free movement for Kosovo

The EU Diplomat from Austria, Erhard Busek, asked the EU to enable free visa movement for the Kosovo citizens.

Buske declared that the idea that criminality can grow by granting free visa, does not stand, because EU must fight this occurrence in Northern Kosovo.

“I am skeptical and concerned, because the Interior Ministers give difficult criteria, due to the fear for a possible growth of criminality. We have many cases when criminality has grown especially because of the lack of free visa, therefore I think that we should be more liberal for this”, Busek declared.

Erhard Busek also declared that the five EU countries that have not recognized Kosovo’s independence have not changed their stance and will await the regulation of the minorities in the new country.

“The five EU member countries have no desire to do anything for Kosovo in this moment. I think that they are waiting the regulation of the minorities in the new state, and other issues that are not over yet. The recognition from these countries could be an argument for electoral campaigns in the respective nations, but the reality is much different”, Busek declared.

In the second day of the conference, the participators were focused on Kosovo’s recognitions. Their discussions, at least by referring to the Foreign Ministry agenda, mentioned topics that are related with the challenges that await Europe for the Foreign Policy, economy, Eurozone crisis, etc.
