Bus attacked with firearm

A 23-year-old passenger was injured, and a 19-year-old woman received light wounds on her face.

The bust was coming from Athens to Tirana. It tool place around the place called “Mogila”, at 01:20, when most of the passengers were asleep. A person asked the bus driver to stop, but the driver increased the speed and asked passengers to lower their heads, and the robbers fired several bullets against the vehicle.

Arif Gjumi, one of the passengers who were on the bus, speaks about the moments of fear.

“The driver told us to lower our heads and kept driving fast. We were talking with one another and saw that the bullets had not taken us, but the other boy saw that his clothes had blood on it and bullets had taken him”, the passenger says.

The 23-year-old Lauret Tabaku from Elbasan has been hospitalized in Fier, in severe conditions, while another 19-year-old girl had light wounds on her face.

Police says that dozens of agents are looking around the area for finding the authors.

Almost one year ago, on January 15th, another bus was robbed near Tepelena.
