The 23-year-old, Laurent Tabaku, from Elbasan, who was injured today in
the Tirana-Athens bus, died this afternoon in hospital. He was one of
the two passengers that were wounded by a robber who tried to stop the
bus and fired several shots after the driver accelerated.

“I saw a person with black clothes, and initially I thought he was a shepherd with a stick on his hand. Then I heard the shots”, says one of the passengers, Edmond Tafa.

“The driver saved us, because that man tried to stop the bus and rob us”, says another passenger, Mark Ndou.

Arif Gjumi, another passenger says that he was sitting close to the victim.

“We heard a noise and the driver told us to lower our heads, and then he accelerated. We were looking each other if anyone had been hit. The boy checked himself and noticed that he had bullets inside his body”, Gjumi declared.

Police declared that dozens of police forces are searching the area. Almost one year ago, on January 15th, another bus was attacked and robbed close to Tepelena.
