One Bulqize miner was sent to hospital, after his health conditions deteriorated in the fourth day of the hunger strike.

Latest information suggests that the striker is Mirdash Neziri, while the colleagues are continuing the hunger strike until their demands will be met.

ACR increases wages with 20%

ACR accused the syndication leaders of misusing the strike for close personal benefits, and not on the interest of the employees.

“We increased the wages with 20%, and the syndication did not communicate it to the miners. This shows that the syndication leaders are serving the interests of some politicians in Tirana, and not Bulqize miners. If someone wants to participate in a hunger strike for making Kole Nikolla richer, it is not our problem”, ACR director announced.

Miners raise their requests

On the fourth day of the strike in the underground galleries, the miners raised their requests.

The strike commission, by emphasizing that they had not been invited by the government or ACR to dialogue about the requests, decided to raise the demands.

They asked the removal of the administrator Medat Zogu, and a 40% increment.

METE fines ACR Company

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy fined ACR Company with 56 million ALL for not realizing the investments.

Mete says that the company has not realized the investments for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009.

“The inspections of the National Agency of Natural Resources state that ACR company has invested 3.09 million USD in the period 2007-2008, while the agreement provides that the total investments should reach 3.4 million USD. Inspections also show that the company hasn’t made any investments during 2009 in the Bulqize chrome mines. For this reason, METE decided to apply a penalty of 56 million ALL to ACR Company, which must be paid within 20 days”, the Ministry declared.
