Bulqizë, demanding “ACR” to leave

On the 13th day of the hunger strike, the head of the Syndication Confederation, Kol Nikolla, denounced what he called pressure by ACR Company to the mineworkers and their families.

For this reason, as he said, they have filed a law suit in the Bulqize Police Department.

Nikolla emphasized that they are open for negotiations, whether with the
government or with the ACR Company, but on the other hand, he also
mentioned a new and radical request.

Now, on the mineworkers’ behalf, Kol Nikolla is asking the ACR Company to leave Albania.

“We are preparing a petition for the President and the Prime Minister,
asking them to start the procedures for removing the company that
destroyed the mines and that is trying to bury us all”, Nikolla declared, although he said that he was open for negotiations, only with him representing the miners.

“We are open to discuss, whether with government or with the company.
Otherwise, the strike will not end, and the strikers will even increase their pressure against the indifferent state structures”, Nikolla
emphasized.

The miners health conditions are deteriorating, while the solution, or the
attempt for finding a solution, has been blocked by the dispute of who
will represent the miners.

The Syndication leaders continue to insist for being present while ACR dialogues with the miners, while the company wants to negotiate with the
miners only, without the Syndication leaders.

While everything remains frozen on the surface, deep in the underground
of the galleries, the leaders of the hunger strike hinted that there was a possibility for negotiating without the presence of the Syndication leaders.

“We are ready to discuss, and if needed, our leader might not be present in the
dialogue for negotiating the end of the hunger strike”, declared one of
the mineworkers yesterday.

Regardless this declaration, nothing has changed and the most endangered
are the mineworkers themselves, whose lives are being withhold by the
clashes between ACR and the Syndication.
