The new law for social housing, which forces new apartment buildings with more than 2,000 square meters to give 3% to the homeless families, according to builders will pass on to the buyers.
The association of builders in Albania say this tax will be reflected on citizens, who are the actual buyers.
“This tax will be charged on someone. First on builders, then to buyers”, said Arian Leskaj, vice leader of the association.
For builders, this is a huge setback, since they also have to pay a huge percentage to the land owners. The 3% is a doubling of the infrastructure tax, so they warn a legal battle.
