Buhler: No reduction of troops

The NATO commander in Kosovo, Erhard Buhler declared that after the
tense situation in Northern Kosovo, the project for reducing
international troops has been cancelled.
“I think that there will be no reduction of troops in a near future”, declared Buhler in an interview for the news agency “AP”.
The NATO mission, established in Kosovo since 1999 was predicted to reduce by 50% of the 5000 troops within this year.
But the violent clashes between Kosovo and Serbia for the north have made the alliance to change its plans and bring reinforcements from Germany and Austria.
A few days ago, the German general declared that KFOR is ready to confront all types of challenges in Kosovo, which, according to him, come as result of unresolved political issues.
