The opposition abandoned the Commission of Security during a discussion for the draft budget of the Interior Ministry.
The Democrats declared that the Interior Minister should give explanations about what happened in the Greek border, where the two Collaku brothers lost their lives.
“Since the Minister is not reporting for this issue, we would prefer to not participate and we will return when the Minister will tell us that he is prepared and that he has the human conscience to give us explanations about this”, declared the Parliament Member Flamur Noka.
“Yesterday, when I consulted with Mr.Noka, we agreed that this issue should be discussed after the New Year. Now it is clear that this is a position or a cause to abandon the meeting. It is not a normal behavior”, declared the Head of the Commission, Spartak Braho.
The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, declared that the police officers’ salaries will raise with 25%, and that the civilian emergency fund has increased with 42%.
“93% of the State Police officers in the lower levels and who climb the grade hierarchy, will have a 25% wage increase. The government has reflected on any problem that we have inherited and decided to increase the civilian emergency fund with 42%”, Tahiri declared.
The Minister reiterated that a new order of the Interior Ministry bans all vehicles with outstanding fines from traveling beyond the Albanian border. Tahiri added that only in seven police stations there are more than 5 imilion EUR in unpaid fines.
