The Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, declared that the government is damaging the decentralization of the local administration.
The new tax package, according to Basha, damages the local autonomy, and the government hasn’t consulted any tax change with the municipality and communes.
Basha accused the Prime Minister and declared that through this budget they are impoverishing the population.
“This budget asphyxiates our efforts to serve to our citizens and removes the possibility to guarantee public services that are valid through dishonesty and arrogance. The budget for 2014 is 33 billion ALL, but in fact they have hidden the Albanian Fund of Development, which was not calculated and cannot be considered as a local fund. This is a clear lie, which is made for funds fo prestigious donators, such as the World Bank”, Basha declared.
“Although the internationals recommend a coordination of the works, this budget has no transparence, coordination or formal communication”, Basha declared.
