Budget approval postponed

It seems obvious that the International Monetary Fund has not certified
the 2012 budget parameters, which is expected to be around 4 billion
USD.

IMF experts are still at Minister Bode’s offices, reviewing in details any expense and plan of revenues.

Although it was planned to pass this week, Prime Minister Berisha and the Council of Ministers undertook no step for concluding the project, but were satisfied to simply propagandize the budget priorities.

“Shqip” newspaper sources at the Ministry of Finances say that IMF has suggested a more conservative budget, asking the Ministers to be as realist as possible with the revenues predictions.

IMF predicts that this year’s economic growth will not be higher than 2.5%, while the government says it will be 4%.

The Prime Minister declared yesterday that the next budget will be the biggest in history, and he also promised 5% budget cuts for every operative expense.

Berisha underlined that it’s the government’s obligation to focus the budget on realizing the main promises of the majority.
