The Health sector will have 2.3 billion ALL more than one year ago. The Health Budget for 2015 will increase with 6%.

This budget will be 41.23 billion ALL in total, 2.8% of the GDP. The Health Minister, Ilir Beqja, explained at the Health Commission the draft-budget that was foreseen for the sector he leads.

“The public health program will receive a special attention. It will be financed with 2.7 billion ALL, with a nominal addition of 189 million ALL compared to 2014. This program will be financed with 18.2 billion ALL, with a nominal addition of 1 billion”, Beqja declared.

The MP of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Petrit Vasili, asked the Ministry of Economy to introduce the table of investments that were proposed with this budget, while they consider it a modest growth.

“The budget is increasing, but the growth remains modest. However, this is the most reasonable budget that we have. Even if we had twice of this, we would have more reserves”, Vasili declared.

The draft-budget foresees a growth of the funds that were planned for the public health program. There will be 1 billion ALL more, because this year we will start check-ups for 40-65 years of age.

570 million ALL will be added in 2015 for reimbursable medicine. The draft-budget of the health system will be discussed at the Health Commission and Social matters on November 24th.
