A 46 year old who had only one broken leg after a car accident, lost his life at the hospital of Berat.
The horrible tragedy angered the family of the victim, who asked doctors to explain why the 46 year old Ferdinand Merkaj died. There were harsh debates with the doctors of Berati hospital, when the relatives accused them of failing to give appropriate care. The victim that was being cured for a broken leg lost his life due to a liver trauma.
The doctors gave their arguments about the event.
“The patient came to the operation room in very serious conditions. While he was reanimated, based on these severe conditions, we decided to transfer him to Tirana”, the doctors say.
The relatives filed a lawsuit at the Berati Prosecution Office against the hospital.
