The Director for the EU Enlargement in Western Balkans at the Foreign
Ministry of the United Kingdom, Mr. Owen Jenkings, is visiting Tirana
where he med the Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
According to a press release, the Prime Minister valued the readiness of the United Kingdom to give assistance for the reforms, while Mr.Jenkins underlined the necessity of closing the EU integration reforms.
Jenkins also met the Albanian opposition leader, Edi Rama, who updated him with the political situation in the country and the obstacles that are met in the electoral, parliamentary and judicial reforms, and the matter for removing the immunity to high rank officials.
During the meeting they also discussed the recent developments in the region and the importance that the progress of each country has for the European agenda.
