British Minister of Justice declared during his visit in Tirana that the number of Albanians involved in crime in Great Britain is small and incalculable.

But he also underlined that those few crimes committed by Albanians are very violent.

“The number of Albanians prisoners in Britain is low. Britain has 85.000 detainees and only 135 of them are Albanians. But I also want to underline that Albanians have been involved in high profile crimes, which damages Albania’s image.” Lord McNally declared.

“Our government is committed to fight crime by using different operations, regardless their origin, from drugs, human traffic and all types of crime, which are a tax to be paid for the European citizens.” Justice Minister added.

During a press conference held with his Albanian homologue, Bujar Nishani, the head of British justice emphasized the good cooperation between the two countries.

Albanian Justice Minister reinsured the British official that every cent given by British tax payers to the Albanian justice system has not only been needful, but has also been spent for the right purpose.

Both ministers participated in the ceremony that inaugurates an EU funded project that serves to improve the proof evaluating process during an investigation.
