Braho: “Will take actions at Secret Service”

The Head of the National Security Commission, Spartak Braho, declared
that the current Secret Service Director, Visho Ajazi, cannot perform
his duties which involve passing of classified information, unless he is
equipped with a Security Certificate.

Braho says Ajazi must wait before he starts working.

The Chairman of the National Security Commission at the Albanian Parliament declared that a working group will be sent at the Secret Service offices, if the certificate will be delayed.

“The handicap is that the Secret Service Director is not certified and cannot exert his normal functions because he will have to receive and pass classified information. He doesn’t have the certificate. He must wait and work only for the period when he will be certified. We are waiting to overcome this obstacle, but if it will be delayed, we will act very soon. The Commission of Security will create a working group for verifying the complaints and problems that need attention”, Ajazi declared.

Summoning the Secret Service Director in a hearing session is a stalemate that has been going on for weeks. Parliament Members of the majority and opposition had summoned the Secret Service Director in a session where he should have reported about his work and about his cooperation with the police, but this meeting was postponed due to the lack of this certificate. The majority Parliament Members asked the establishing of a working group for inspecting the Secret Service, since Ajazi couldn’t be invited in the Parliamentary Commission. Braho declared that this will take place very soon.
