The Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, accused the Ministry of Defense of using
the Polican Military Plant to work outside the object of its existence,
which is the ammunition dismantling.
Brace says that the plant imported other raw materials and produced ammunition that was sold.
“The documents signed by the Polican Plant Director show that it has taken another profile, that of dismantling ammunition, mainly heavy missiles that are dangerous for the population.
This process was financed by Albania’s most important partners, such as the US State Department, NATO and other agencies, but Minister Imami, the Defense Ministry, the MEICO enterprise and other corrupted officials are trying to give the Polican plant the ammunition producing profile. We have a series of documents that prove a new relationship between the “UNIMESCO” Company with strong relations inside the Defense Ministry, which imports gun powder from the Czech Republic and shells from Bosnia, and produces handgun bullets. The Polican Plant has entered the ammunition exporting industry, created by their relation with the UNIMESCO company and their sale in other countries, including Kosovo”, Brace declared.
Imami: We sold ammunition with a normal price
The Defense Minister, Arben Imami, declared that some weapons were sold with a minimal price because of the high dismantling cost.
After the accusations made by the Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, Imami declared that the weapons were sold cheaper for avoiding consequences on people.
“Many documents published by Brace are state secrets. He must tell how he gathered them illegally”, Imami declared.
