The Socialist MP, Erion Brace, declared that same as the other government institutions, the Bank of Albania is also spending huge money on luxury activities that have dramatically increased exactly in a time of crisis, with budget cuts in many sectors.
According to Brace, the Bank of Albania data show that the personnel expenses have increased with 40% compared to 2009, while the administrative expenses have doubled.
Brace expresses his surprise about “sport activity expenses” at the Bank of Albania, which, according to him, in 2009 reached 280.000 USD and in 2012 were at around 37.000 USD.
The Socialist Parliamentary Group vice leader declared that the Bank has also increased the expenses towards the rents of private subjects for their buildings. Brace says that the Bank must explain why the renting expenses have increased from 335.000 USD to 1 million USD.
The public finance crisis has obliged the government to cut public investments even for the categories in need. The expenses for economy decreased last year with 337 million ALL, or 2% compared to one year ago.
“The message given to the citizens is cruel. Cutting expenses of people in need and allowing this luxury to the administration, such as the Vlore villa or the food expenses at the Bank of Albania is really shameful and immoral not only for the Bank of Albania, but also for Governor Fullani”, Brace underlined.
