One day before the visit of Prime Minister Berisha in Berat, the
Socialist MP, Erjon Brace, accused the government of robbing the road
infrastructure funds in the Berat district.
“The government hasn’t even repaired any road in Fier and Lushnje, and the shame is those seven kilometres from Poshnje to the Ura Vajgurore. It’s horrible, same as the road from Ura Vajgurore to Berat. The technology that was used for the Lushnje-Fiershegan road was very miserable”, Brace declared.
Brace mentioned the bad situation of the local olive producers, who are being destroyed by import in a season of great production.
“The olive price is 35 ALL. There’s no other good in Albania today that costs 35 ALL, and if we process it the costs would be higher and it wouldn’t give us anything. With 1 kg of olive you can produce 120 grams of oil, and with the current prices it leaves nothing to us. Olive comes in large quantities from Greece and is competing with the domestic product, especially with that from Berat”, the Socialist MP declared.
